Position Type: Part Time
Salary Range: $15.00 Hourly

MPM is hiring one (1) Part-Time Retail and Theater Representative. The Representative will split time in the Museum Shop, Haymarket Candy Store, and Dome Theater & Planetarium, ensuring a consistently high-quality experience for all guests throughout the museum.
The position is15-20 hours a week but can vary within a work week based on scheduling needs. It includes days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Interested applicants must be available to cover at least one shift per weekend and have the flexibility for occasional evening events. Schedules are available 4 weeks in advance and this position participates in an incentive sales program.
In this role you will:
- Actively engage in discussions of products with guests.
- Promote MPM events, concessions sales, and shopping.
- Use the Retail POS systems, including opening and closing registers, handling exchanges and returns, ensuring a balanced cash drawer, and reconciling end of day reports.
- Organize, stock, and clean displays regularly without direction
- Open and close the theater concession stand, including making popcorn, restocking, cleaning, and filing end of day reports.
- Be the first point of contact at the theater; welcoming guests, monitoring traffic flow, verifying theater tickets, and assisting guests to their seats as needed.
- Provide support to theater staff by occasionally starting and ending Planetarium Programs and Giant Films, making pre-show and post-show announcements, monitoring the shows for sound and video issues, and reporting concerns immediately to management.

- Are attentive to your surroundings and enjoy problem-solving.
- Take pride in creating attractive displays in line with events, including organizing, cleaning, and stocking.
- Are personable and customer service oriented.
- Possess prior experience providing customer service and cash handling.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent education.

Qualifications That Are Preferred but Not Required:
- Previous opening/closing experience in a retail environment.
