AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The Department of Geosciences in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences is seeking a Part-Time Research Supporter to provide excellent customer service while facilitating research involving stable isotopes of organic materials and mass spectrometers.

What You’ll Do

  • Maintain and operate analytical laboratory instrumentation. Tasks include implementing established procedures and evaluating the quality of analyses using standards.
  • Assist in the development and modification of procedures, and standards for lab operations for diverse sample types and research objectives.
  • Coordinate daily operations of lab, including purchasing supplies and maintaining standards, scheduling instrument time, keeping appropriate records, training and supervising students and ensure safe practices.
  • Help organize data/findings for use in technical reports, documents, or oral/written presentations

Skills You Have

  • Experience with mass spectrometers.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • A willingness to work in a fast-paced, team environment
  • A commitment to fostering diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging
