The appointee will be involved in a research
project in the School of Graduate Studies. The research project aimed at
understanding how wheelchair users in Hong Kong negotiate their daily challenges and construct a sense of place when navigating in their neighbourhood and surrounding areas, with a focus on their embodied experience.
Responsibilities
• Conduct literature review
• Assist in arranging interviews with wheelchair users living in Hong Kong
• Support in conducting interviews
• Perform qualitative data analyses
• Perform other duties
as assigned by the supervisor(s)
Requirements
• A Bachelor’s degree or above in Geography, Urban Studies, Social Policy, Sociology or related disciplines
• Experience in working with wheelchair users or persons with disabilities
• Strong skills in qualitative research analysis tools such as NVivo
• Good analytical, organisational and interpersonal skills
• A good command of written and spoken English and Cantonese
• The ability to work independently
• Previous experience in undertaking qualitative research
is highly preferred
Candidates with less/more experience will also be considered for
appointment at a relevant rank.

Salary and Fringe Benefits
Commencing salary
will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The appointee is
expected to meet the Project Investigator regularly to report the progress.
