Position Type: Part-Time (Minimum 4 shifts/month)
NextCare Urgent Care is seeking a motivated and patient-focused Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team in Victoria, TX in a part-time float capacity This opportunity is ideal for clinicians who enjoy variety, autonomy, and delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced urgent care environment while supporting coverage across the local clinic network.
As a float provider, you’ll care for patients of all ages while collaborating with strong clinical support teams and accessible medical leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care.
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting
Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits
Order and interpret diagnostic studies including labs and imaging
Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing, wound care, and splinting (as applicable)
Communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions clearly
Document care accurately and efficiently in the electronic health record (EHR)
Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks
Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards and values
Provide coverage across clinics within the Victoria, TX area as needed
Support staffing needs due to PTO, schedule gaps, and volume changes
Travel between clinics as needed
Part-time providers commit to a minimum of 4 shifts per month
Additional shifts may be available based on clinic needs and provider availability
Typical urgent care shifts are 12 hours (clinic hours vary by location)
Weekend and holiday rotation may be required depending on coverage needs
Active, unrestricted Texas license (NP or PA)
National certification (FNP preferred for Nurse Practitioners; NCCPA certification required for Physician Assistants)
Active DEA license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
Comfortable treating patients of all ages
1+ year of experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, family medicine, or similar setting preferred
Strong clinical decision-making and ability to work independently with support
Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient-centered mindset
