Part-Time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Longmont, CO

Location: Longmont, Colorado
Status: Part-Time
Schedule: Minimum of 4 shifts per month; standard clinic hours are 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, seven days a week
Compensation: $60–$80/hour, based on experience, plus bonus
Benefits: Part-time benefits available, including 401(k), paid malpractice, and sick time

NextCare Urgent Care is seeking a Part-Time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in Longmont, CO. This role is ideal for clinicians who value variety, autonomy, and meaningful community impact while practicing in a fast-paced, well-supported urgent care environment.

Clinicians at NextCare enjoy true work-life balance, including no after-hours tasks, flexible scheduling, and monthly schedules released in advance. This part-time opportunity requires a minimum of 4 shifts per month, with a combination of weekdays, weekends, and holidays based on clinic needs.

You’ll be supported by experienced clinical teams, strong peer relationships, clear practice guidelines, and accessible medical leadership who provide real-time guidance and mentorship. The work is engaging and varied, with a broad patient population and generally low-acuity presentations that keep skills sharp without the pressure of inpatient follow-up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting

  • Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits

  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs, x-rays, and EKGs

  • Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing, splinting, wound care, and incision and drainage, as applicable

  • Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions

  • Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR

  • Code and bill services appropriately

  • Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks

  • Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards and values

Required Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Colorado license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

  • NP: Family Nurse Practitioner certification through ANCC or AANP required

  • PA: NCCPA certification required

  • Active DEA license, or ability to obtain

  • Colorado prescriptive authority required for NPs

  • Ability to treat patients of all ages

  • Active BLS certification

  • EHR proficiency

  • Comfort working independently in an urgent care setting

  • Willingness to work occasional weekends and holidays

  • DOT certification required or willingness to obtain; fees covered

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior urgent care, emergency medicine, or fast-track experience

  • Strong procedural skills, including suturing, splinting, wound care, and incision and drainage

  • Experience with initial x-ray interpretation prior to radiology over-read

  • Experience working as a solo provider
