Job Description

Our Lady of Perpetual Help School, a Catholic parish school located in Ilchester, Maryland, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-Time Physical Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic school year. This position will work 7 hours per week.

The Physical Education Teacher will provide grade school students with a comprehensive educational and physical fitness experience aligned with the Archdiocese of Baltimore and State of Maryland Physical Education curriculum standards The successful candidate will create a learning environment that fosters an understanding of the relationship between physical fitness, healthy body function, exercise, wellness, and athletics while promoting lifelong healthy habits.

Essential Functions

  • Maintains high professional standards consistent with the mission of the school and the teaching of the Catholic Church.
  • Plans and implements instructional programs with clear objectives in line with the Archdiocese of Baltimore and State of Maryland Standards.
  • Creates an instructional environment conducive to learning.
  • Maintains accurate and complete records of students' progress and development, in a timely manner.
  • Teach physical fitness, individual and team sports, utilizing appropriate learning activities.
  • Motivate each student to cultivate physical fitness, and appropriate social and emotional adjustment that discovers and develop talents of students in physical achievement.
  • Communicates standards, achievements, and deficiencies to students and parents through email, phone calls, conferences, and electronic grade book.
  • Responsible for the safety and active supervision of students both in and outside of the classroom.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • MSDE Certification or the willingness to obtain certification, required.
  • Classroom teaching experience preferred.
  • Proficient in using a variety of technology.

Pay Rate This position will work 7 hours per week @ $20.00 per hour for this 10-month position
