Salary Range: $25.00 - $35.00 Hourly, POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Payroll and Benefits Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll and managing employee benefit programs.
The anticipated schedule for this position will be working fully in-office for 15-20 hours a week.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Compiles, records and processes employee time and payroll data; generates biweekly payroll.
- Reviews time and attendance data and various payroll reports for completeness and accuracy; communicates with staff about missing items.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and wage laws.
- Compiles, processes and distributes payroll reports for internal management review, as needed.
- Handles payroll discrepancies, adjustments, and corrections promptly.
- Administers employee benefits program and coordinates open enrollment periods; communicates benefit options to employees and resolves benefits-related issues as needed.
- Reviews and reconciles monthly benefit invoices to the payroll deductions report and approves for payment.
- Processes retirement transmittal and reconciliation in YMCA retirement system.
- Conduct audits of payroll records and changes made by HR.
- Processes garnishments through HRIS platform and verifies deductions occur properly.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS:
- Three to five years related HR/admin experience with knowledge of insurance, benefit elections, and payroll.
- Experience in a non-profit setting preferable.
- Proficient in standard business software with strong working experience in Excel and reporting.
- Ability to work with integrity, discretion, and a professional approach.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
