Job Description

The Department of Community Detistry within the School of Dental Medicine, Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland Ohio, invites applications from an exceptional candidate for a Non-Tenure Track Assistant Professor position. The Department is active in teaching, service, and research related programs. The faculty of the Department of Community Dentistry and other researchers within the School of Dental Medicine comprise a diverse group of individuals with expertise in dentistry, epidemiology, biostatistics, and public health. The department has pediatric and geriatric community projects serving School Districts, adult day care, and housing sites.

This position will provide faculty preceptorship for DMD dental students in the geriatric program at one day a week and will be primarily at area adult day centers and housing sites throughout NE Ohio. This position will also be provided additional time for the next four years to participate in research-related activities. These research ativities include supervising dental hygienists in delivery of treatment care to older adults, and participating in training and calibration in caries assessment methods. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the teaching and research mission of the department/school including geriatric instruction in the DMD curricula.

Qualifications

Canidates must have a DDS or DMD with a dental license to practice in Ohio.

Desirable candidates should:

-Have 3-5 years experience in treating and working with geriatric patients

-Have some experience in teaching

The annual starting base salary range for this position at the rank of assistant professor is from $25,000 to $28,576 for one day day/week. CWRU considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
