Job Description

Charlotte’s Best Nanny Agency is assisting a family in Matthews, NC, in finding a Part-Time Nanny for their 1-year-old son. The nanny would be needed Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 11:00 am. It would be a plus if the nanny were available to work every 5th weekend when the mom is on call.

The best nanny for this family would be trustworthy, honest, gentle, and experienced in caring for toddlers. It would be a plus if the candidate had an early childhood education background and was confident in supporting developmental milestones such as sleep training and potty training. This role requires someone who can help create and maintain a consistent daily schedule while remaining flexible to a toddler’s changing needs and following his cues throughout the day.

The family is seeking a nurturing, interactive caregiver who will keep their son engaged with singing nursery rhymes, playing with balls, reading, water play, and other age-appropriate activities. No screen time is preferred by this family, and the nanny should also limit their own screen use around the children. As trust is built, the nanny will be asked to take the child on regular community outings such as library visits, parks, and age-appropriate activities that support socialization and exploration. Dad works from home; the nanny should be comfortable with this and respect proper work-from-home boundaries.

Nanny Responsibilities Include:

• Meeting daily scheduling needs of the child (Feeding, Changing, Napping)

• Engaging with the child on an age-appropriate level

• Playing with the child both inside and outside the home

• Doing hands-on learning activities with the child

Household Duties Include (Child is priority):

• Child’s laundry and changing child’s sheets weekly

• Child’s meal prep, including the child’s breakfast, lunch, and dinner

• Unloading/loading dishwasher

• Wiping down kitchen counters

• Sanitizing toys and frequently used surfaces by the child

• Keeping children’s areas and toys tidy

• Emptying the diaper pail

Qualifications:

• Have at least 3 years of professional nanny experience

• Have a college degree or equivalent experience

• Have a professional resume

• Fill out a complete online application

• Pass a pre-screening interview with Charlotte’s Best Nanny Agency

• Pass a national background check, including a driving record check

• Pass a Drug Screen

• Have a valid driver’s license

• Have safe and reliable transportation

• Have a minimum of three professional references

• Be non-smoking/vaping

• CPR and First Aid Certified

• Nanny should be fluent in English; any additional languages are a plus

• Must be up to date on childhood vaccinations, the COVID-19 vaccine and booster, and the annual Flu Vaccine before starting the position.

Start Date, Salary, and Benefits:

• This position starts September 1st (has some flexibility, 15th at the latest)

• Legal pay is offered at $28-$30 an hour, depending on experience

• Continued pay while the family is away
