New York University (NYU) Berlin is seeking a part-time lecturer for a course called “Arts Marketing.” The course is offered by NYU Berlin in conjunction with the Stern School of Business, and counts towards the BEMT minor.
The arts sector is in the midst of a rapid structural shift, placing new and evolving demands not just on artists, producers, venue directors, and marketers alike. As audience engagement and promotional channels change just as quickly, intuitive outreach is no longer sufficient. Navigating this climate requires analytical rigor and tactical precision. To remain viable and impactful, cultural marketers must adapt by pairing operational efficiency with genuine creative resourcefulness. This course is designed to be a self-contained introduction to marketing in the arts. It will focus primarily on live performing arts, particularly those encompassed by the term Tanztheater, and can also include museums, galleries, and other performance venues.
The language of instruction is English, and the course is planned to be offered in Spring 2027. The spring semester runs from January 18 to May 5, 2027, with a week-long break from March 15-21. In this term, the class meets eight times for a total of 24 contact hours.
