Part-Time Faculty Lecturer for Photography: DP3010 Moving Image for Media Artists
The School of Art, Design and Media (ADM) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, invites applications for a part-time lecturer position in moving image for media artists. Commencing in August 2026, this role involves teaching an undergraduate core course that provides students with a foundational understanding of video production, culminating in the creation of their own original works. Class lectures and discussions will encompass the history and theory of time-based media, alongside professional practice. Consequently, the successful applicant must be able to effectively teach both the technical and aesthetic principles of the medium.
Ideal candidates will be well-versed in discourses surrounding the lens and the screen, demonstrating strong analytical thinking related to both photography and film. Applicants should hold an MFA and/or PhD in photo media or a related field, possess a proven exhibition record, and show demonstrable expertise in both still and moving image production. Furthermore, practical experience in a professional studio setting and prior undergraduate teaching are required. Preference will be given to those with a robust understanding of contemporary practices across both mediums.
