ELKHART COUNTY GOVERNMENTAL POSITION VACANCY NOTICE

PART TIME LAW CLERK

DEPARTMENT: Elkhart County Judiciary

HIRING RANGE: $30.40-$66.89/hr based on education and position related experience.

BENEFITS OFFERED: No Benefits Offered

POSITION TO BE FILLED: ASAP

HOURS & DAYS OF WORK: Up to 20 hours/week

LOCATION OF POSITION: Elkhart

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Within County (please complete driving page on application)

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for performing legal research, interpreting case law, and drafting complex legal orders and opinions.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Juris Doctor and licensed to practice law in Indiana or being scheduled to take the Bar exam
• Thorough knowledge of legal website resources and the Indiana Code
• Excellent organizational and communications skills and a sound knowledge of office procedures/practices
• Pre-employment background check and drug screen
