About the role:

The Part-Time Kids Ministry Campus Director provides leadership, coordination, and care for children and families for our Clearwater campus This role partners with central Kids Ministry leadership to deliver engaging, safe, and spiritually impactful environments where kids grow in their faith and families feel connected and supported.

Essential Functions:

  • Sunday Leadership: Lead and oversee the complete Kids Ministry experience for Nursery through 5th Grade during Sunday services. Welcome families, create a warm first impression, and strictly enforce check-in, safety, and child protection policies.
  • Volunteer Leadership & Development: Recruit, train, equip, and support Kids Ministry volunteers. Communicate schedules and expectations clearly while caring for team members through presence, prayer, and follow-up.
  • Program & Environment Management: Prepare classrooms, curriculum materials, and room setups prior to services. Implement central Kids Ministry curriculum, organize storage areas, and lead special family experiences and seasonal programs.
  • Communication & Administration: Communicate regularly with central Kids Ministry leadership, track weekly attendance and volunteer metrics, and collaborate with campus leaders to align with church-wide goals.
  • Teamwork & Ministry Integration: Work cooperatively with all levels of pastoral staff, ministry personnel, volunteers, members, and guests to fulfill the mission of Indian Rocks.
Requirements

Experience: Verifiable experience serving with children or families in a ministry or educational environment preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Demonstrates a growing personal faith and passion for helping children know Jesus.
  • Possesses strong organizational, communication, and relational skills to effectively lead volunteer teams.
  • Warm, approachable, solutions-oriented, self-motivated, and adaptable in high-energy environments.
  • Committed to excellence and child safety procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize action plans, delegate assignments, oversee project timelines, and communicate clear written and verbal direction.
  • Ability to cultivate cooperative relationships between the church, school, membership, and local community.
  • Ability to commit to consistent Sunday availability, as well as some weekday preparation time.

Church Membership & Lifestyle Expectations

  • Must give testimony and evidence of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and sense the call of God to a serving ministry.
  • Must demonstrate a consistent Christian lifestyle as referenced by the Mission, Statement of Faith, and Leadership Guidelines of Indian Rocks.
  • Must be an active member of Indian Rocks as defined by regular attendance in worship services, regular attendance/involvement in an Indian Rocks Connection Group or Small Group, commitment to systematic stewardship, and faithful in tithing.
