
The Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) currently has a vacancy for part-time Job Coaches within the Discover Program. The Discover Program within our Student Services Division offers a comprehensive work-based learning approach related service that prepares high school students with disabilities to transition from school to adult life.
Our job coaches are the most important members of Discover program as they accompany students one on one, or in small groups to community business partners to:
*Job Coaches may either meet students at the workplace or be required to drive students in CCIU vans. Employees may be asked to drive students in an IU provided vehicle.*

Schedule:
Work Hours: Up to 5.25 hours per day for up to 26.25 hours per week. Please note that this position would take place during the school day, not after school or on weekends. An example schedule could be 8:30 AM -1 PM
Exempt Status: Non-exempt position

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Experience with secondary students preferred
- Experience with autism/special needs population strongly preferred
- Experience with data collection for special education strongly preferred
- Willingness to work in several areas of Chester County
- Current Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check required upon hire (CCIU to conduct)
- Current police, child abuse & FBI Fingerprint clearances required upon hire
- Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and the federal government (conducted by the CCIU upon hire)
Hourly (2026 - 2027 rate):
$24.82 - $32.90 /hour
*Placement is determined on years of experience in a similar role.

Created in 1971 by the Pennsylvania General Assembly, the Chester County Intermediate Unit is a regional educational service agency that exists to provide quality, cost-effective services to the community and its residents. The Chester County Intermediate Unit administers instructional, enrichment and administrative programs and services to Chester County’s 12 public school districts, and to over 45 private and parochial schools in the county. These programs include instructional, remedial and enrichment services for regular and special education students and career and technical education programs for secondary and post-secondary students. The CCIU provides direct instruction to over 5,000 students a year and support services to an additional 30,000 students a year.
In addition, the IU supports teachers, school administrators, school directors and school districts through a multitude of services, including, but not limited to: business and administrative services, communications services, technology services and human resources. The diversity of CCIU programs enables IU staff to interact with school district personnel at all levels and to maintain a cohesive educational network throughout Chester County.
