Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa, that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Capture Manager to support capture initiatives across Japan. You will assist in identifying and pursuing business opportunities, preparing capture materials, and coordinating with regional teams. You will play a key role in ensuring that capture efforts are organized, accurate, and aligned with strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all capture functions for assigned opportunities and serve as the Capture Manager responsible for the overall win
  • Develop and maintain capture plans, schedules, and action items to ensure opportunities remain on track throughout the business development lifecycle
  • Form and lead cross-functional capture teams, conduct kickoff meetings, secure stakeholder buy-in, and oversee capture gate reviews
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret customer, market, and competitive intelligence to inform capture strategies, assess competitor capabilities, and improve win probability
  • Conduct SWOT analyses and develop differentiated win themes, win strategies, and compelling customer-focused value propositions
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, government stakeholders, industry partners, subcontractors, and teaming partners
  • Lead solution development efforts by collaborating with business development, operations, technical, pricing, and finance teams to create winning and competitive solutions
  • Support staffing strategies by identifying and securing key personnel and other critical resources required for successful pursuits
  • Develop pricing strategies and collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver compliant and competitive proposals
  • Lead customer engagement, outreach, and targeted marketing activities to strengthen opportunity positioning and customer relationships
  • Manage proposal preparation activities, including executive summaries, proposal planning, proposal resources, contributor coordination, and review management
  • Facilitate Blue Team and other color team reviews and ensure review actions are addressed and incorporated
  • Perform other business development and corporate growth support activities as assigned.

Qualifications to be successful in the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Business, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • MBA or PMP certification preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of five years of project management and/or business capture experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in developing, organizing, and executing capture activities, including industry team development, win-probability assessment, and customer engagement strategies.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Government (USG) contracting required.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to establish strategic partnerships and support business growth and margin expansion.
  • Strong executive presence with a proactive, self-starter mindset and the ability to take initiative.
  • Positive, team-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Prior U.S. military retiree or current U.S. military dependent required.
  • Japanese language proficiency preferred.
