The Department of History at St. Francis Xavier University invites applications for the position of Part-time Academic Instructors to teach;
HIST 314 - Canada and the Cold War Era;
HIST 355 - The Sixties: A Social History;
HIST 322 - Canadian Immigration: Race and Ethnicity TO 1896;
HIST 323 - Canadian Immigration: Race and Ethnicity FROM 1896
**Potentially two more 3-credit courses from our course offerings will be considered, depending on qualifications of applicants.
Each of the above courses is (3 credits each). See course descriptions under Dept of History, https://www.stfx.ca/department/history/courses ). These courses will ideally be taught in person over the fall term (September to December) and winter term (January to April) in the 2026-27 academic year, with classes beginning on the 2nd of September. Proposals for online Synchronous courses may be considered.
Preference will be given to candidates who possess a PhD in History and to individuals who have strong teaching and communication skills and/or who have prior experience in university-level teaching.
