Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the Facilities Manager, this position is responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic environment that is safe and hazard free. Upholds safety and security standards of the corporation including use of personal protective equipment as necessary. Assist in maintaining good public relations with patrons by ensuring customer service standards are achieved. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members. Key Accountabilities

  • General Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance and repairs across the site, including washroom fixtures, light bulbs, walls, flooring. This includes preventative maintenance tasks such as unclogging toilets and sinks, changing/replacing hand soap and sanitizer dispensers, performing minor carpentry work, and handling carpet and floor repairs.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in a timely and efficient manner using the appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Cleaning Equipment Operation: Operate specialized cleaning equipment, including carpet cleaners, auto scrubbers, and other necessary tools, to maintain the cleanliness of the site. This includes performing regular maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment to ensure its continued functionality.
  • Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free work environment. Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.
  • Proactively identify and address unsafe conditions, such as wet floors, exposed cords, or debris in walkways.
  • Hazard Identification: Identify and address potential trip or fall hazards, including wet floors, unmarked hazards, or obstacles in hallways and access routes. Ensure that all public and employee areas are free of hazards and debris at all times.
  • Compliance with Policies and Standards: Ensure all duties are carried out in compliance with departmental policies and the Internal Control Manual. Adhere to safety, security, and operational standards as outlined by the company and regulatory bodies.
  • Customer Service and Public Relations: Assist in maintaining good public relations by ensuring that customer service standards are met. Uphold the highest level of professionalism and respect toward patrons, employees, and other personnel, fostering a positive environment at all

    times.
  • High-Reach Cleaning: Operate scissor lifts and other equipment to clean high-reach areas, ensuring that all spaces are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.
  • General Cleaning Support: As directed by the supervisor, assist in cleaning tasks across various areas of the facility, including the gaming floor, washrooms, smoking areas, and general common spaces. Duties may include replenishing supplies, removing waste, dusting, vacuuming, and mopping.
  • Regulatory Adherence: Comply with all applicable regulations, including those established by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and other relevant legal requirements.
  • Perform any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor, in accordance with the position's scope and job requirements.

Education and Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma or an equivalence or combination of work experience and education
  • Certification/license from one of the trade professions would be an asset
  • Experience in a related field of 1 or more years with formal training in one or more of the related trade professions would be an asset
  • Strong organization, interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License

  • Regular back office environment, standing for long periods of time, some exposure to noise, some exposure to verbal abuse, non-traditional work hours for our 24/7/365 operations.
