Job Description

Start Date: ASAP

Compensation: $32 per hour

Guaranteed Hours: 16 hours per week

Schedule: Mondays and Wednesdays, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM or 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

Seeking a reliable, detail-oriented part-time estate housekeeper to join a professional team at a private residence in Lambertville, NJ. The home is a 7-bedroom, 4 full and 2 half-bath estate featuring fine furnishings and artwork requiring meticulous care and consistent upkeep.

The ideal candidate is experienced in high-end private homes, highly self-motivated, and able to maintain exceptional cleanliness standards with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail, integrity, and discretion are essential. The family primarily resides in California during the summer and visits on weekends, allowing for structured maintenance and periodic deep cleaning. While there are no full-time pets, small dogs may occasionally be present during family visits. This household values long-term staff relationships, with many team members remaining for 20+ years.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed cleaning and upkeep of all rooms on assigned days
  • Care for fine furnishings, artwork, and delicate surfaces with appropriate methods
  • Maintain consistent household presentation and organization standards
  • Complete seasonal deep cleaning projects (e.g., drapery care, detailed resets) when home is unoccupied or during lighter periods
  • Assist with household needs during family visits or gatherings (occasional additional hours, including summer evenings if needed)
  • Occasionally assist with grocery shopping (gas allowance provided monthly)
  • Work collaboratively with other household staff when applicable
  • Full scope of duties available for qualified candidates upon request

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a private estate or high-end residential housekeeping role
  • Prior experience working in team-based household environments preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining luxury home standards
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
  • Comfortable interacting with family members of all ages
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Must be willing to work occasional additional hours as needed (especially during summer)
  • Must pass a background check
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must sign an NDA and maintain strict confidentiality
  • Provide 3–5 professional, verifiable references
