Job Title: Part-Time Household Manager

Location: Raleigh, NC 27609 (primary residence)

Atlantic Beach, NC 28512 (summer residence)

Employment Type: Part-time, 15–20 hours per week

Schedule: Approximately 3 days per week, ideally Monday through Wednesday but open to other days. Scheduling is flexible and coordinated week-to-week. Occasional evenings or weekends may be needed. Hours may increase during the summer months.

Compensation: $35–$40 per hour

Start Date: ASAP

• Maintain a smoke-free environment.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Reliable transportation required.
• CPR and First Aid certification required, or willingness to obtain prior to start.
• Ability to navigate multiple levels throughout the day.
• Must be comfortable with cats and dogs.

About Our Family

We're an active family of six based in Raleigh, NC, with a busy household rhythm built around four kids, two dogs, a cat, and a schedule that moves fast. Life here is full — sports, activities, weekend adventures, and the kind of productive chaos that comes with raising four young children. We love the energy of it, but we also deeply value the quiet moments, and we've worked hard to put solid systems in place to keep things running smoothly.

Our household already has a rhythm: a cleaning crew comes weekly, a chef visits every other week, and our home organization systems are freshly established and ready to be maintained. What we're missing is the connective tissue — someone who can step in and keep things humming without needing direction.

This is a household where you'll be trusted to provide assistance behind the scenes. We highly value professionalism, mutual respect, and clear boundaries. Who You Are / What We're Looking For

You're calm under pressure, quick on your feet, and the kind of person who spots what needs to be done before being asked. You have a naturally grounded energy — the kind that de-escalates rather than adds to the noise. You can "read the room" and shift seamlessly between focused task mode and warm, engaged support when appropriate. You take initiative but are also open to collaboration. Most importantly: you're flexible, resourceful, and enjoy variety.

During the school year, this role will not involve much direct childcare, but it is important that you build rapport with our kids and become a caring presence in their lives. On an average day, we are looking for support with maintaining home organization systems, laundry, errands, pet care, and light meal prep. We are flexible and have varied schedules ourselves, so we are happy to work together to find the best days and times for you to come in each week. What matters most to us is not when things get done, but that they are done!

We spend our summers at our Atlantic Beach, NC property, and we'd love for the right person to join us there as well. There will be opportunity for additional hours over the summer as our needs shift toward more family-facing support with camps, guests, and outdoor living. During the summer, we can provide housing accommodations if needed. The rest of the year, housing is not provided.

Key Responsibilities

Family Support & Child Assistance

• School pickup and drop-off as needed
• Supervision of children on an occasional basis (date nights, events - may include some overnights)
• Prepping school lunches and assembling snacks and backpacks
• Kid-related errands as needed (school supplies, activity prep, etc.)

Household Organization & Maintenance

• Maintain established household organization systems
• Daily resets and light tidying between weekly cleaning visits — dishes, surfaces, vacuuming high-traffic areas, emptying small trash cans
• Making beds and wiping down bathrooms as needed
• Seasonal clothing, bedding, and décor swaps
• Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs
• Event, holiday and guest prep
• Packing and unpacking assistance for family travel
• Indoor plant care and minor household upkeep (batteries, light bulbs, etc.)

Inventory & Errands

• In-store and app-based grocery shopping based on family lists, with growing initiative as preferences are learned
• Proactive pantry and fridge restocking
• Managing returns, dry cleaning drop-off and pickup, and gift shopping
• Sorting and managing mail and packages; breaking down boxes
• Managing household orders and subscriptions as needed

Meal Planning & Prep

• Light meal prep: chopping vegetables, preparing fruit and snacks, and assembling simple kid-friendly meals as needed
• Following family dietary preferences — the family eats primarily organic, grass-fed, and free-range; one family member has a gluten intolerance
• Kitchen clean-up and maintenance after prep

Laundry & Linen Care

• Full family laundry — washing, folding, and putting away
• Linen rotation
• Awareness of garment care, including separation of lights and darks and hang-dry items
• Steaming clothing in parents' closets as needed
• Keeping laundry area clean and well-stocked

Pet Care

• Walking and exercising the younger dog; letting both dogs out throughout the day
• Feeding dogs and cat; washing dog bowls regularly
• Emptying the robotic litter box as needed (bagged tray system — no direct contact required)
• Administering morning and evening medication for the older dog as needed
• Scheduling and driving pets to grooming and veterinary appointments as needed

Vehicle Upkeep

• Fueling family vehicles
• Taking family vehicles in for scheduled maintenance
• Coordinating with the existing mobile car detailer

Administrative & Personal Assistant Support

• Assisting with household calendar management, including transferring appointments, updating the family schedule, and helping maintain communication flow between household members regarding scheduling
• Managing receipts and tracking expenses incurred in the role

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects

• Occasional deep cleans of appliances (fridge, oven)
• Refreshing clutter zones such as mudroom
• Cleaning and rotating air purifiers and humidifiers

Vender & Property Oversight

• Coordinating and overseeing contractors, cleaners, and landscapers
• Researching and scheduling home repairs as needed
• Outdoor tidying: picking up toys, managing dog waste between service days, and keeping patio areas clean
• Optional assistance with summer property management during off-season

Summer Property Support (Atlantic Beach, NC)

• Join the family at the Atlantic Beach property for the summer months (late June through late August) - accommodation available on-site if needed
• Summer scope is more child-facing: camp pickups and drop-offs, pool supervision, and stocking and planning for extended guest stays or events
• Outdoor and property support including pool area upkeep
