Charlotte’s Best Nanny Agency is assisting a family in Olde Providence in finding a Part-Time Homeschool Co-Teacher for their 4 children, ages 8, 10, 11, and 13 years old. The Homeschool Co-Teacher would be needed Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, 8:00 am - 12:30 pm, and Tuesday, 8:00 am - 10:30 am. There will be occasional opportunities for additional hours. School runs from August to June, with no instruction taking place in July. During July, administrative tasks will be expected.

The Best Homeschool Co-Teacher would be firm but kind, patient, and highly organized with strong experience in education (particularly in math instruction). Prior classroom experience is not required, but the ideal candidate must be confident teaching high school-level academics, with a focus on Honors Algebra 1, Geometry, and higher-level math. This role supports a homeschooling mother of 4 children with varying academic levels. Math curriculum for upper-level classes will be provided, and other curricular materials for math enrichment are available to choose from. Over time, there is flexibility for the assistant to take on more curriculum planning and contribute ideas for enrichment, particularly in math and science.

In addition to high school math instruction, responsibilities include providing math enrichment for grades 3–6, and supporting middle school and upper elementary science and language arts as needed. The role also includes building study skills, organization, and executive functioning, while working with one child at a time alongside the mom. Focus is strictly academic, with supervision limited to learning activities rather than household tasks, aside from occasional encouragement and reminders of daily chores and responsibilities. The ideal candidate would be punctual, structured, and confident in maintaining academic focus while remaining encouraging and supportive, with the primary goal to create a calm, productive learning environment. Dad works from home, and a Nanny/House Manager is also present in the home.

Qualifications:

• Have at least 3 years of professional educational experience

• Have a college degree (prefer math or science)

• Ability to facilitate Algebra 1 Honors and Geometry schoolwork

• Have a professional resume

• Have safe and reliable transportation

• Have a minimum of three professional references

Start Date, Salary, and Benefits:

• Legal pay is offered at $40-$45 an hour, depending on experience
