Hardship / Collections Officer - Part-time and Term-time-only opportunities

Are you an experienced Hardship or Collections Officer, with a background in financial services and a genuine desire to support people during their most difficult times? Are you looking for a permanent opportunity to work part-time or term-time-only hours?

Bluestone Home Loans is an award-winning non-bank lender, helping Aussies with a variety of financial needs and circumstances to purchase a home, refinance or invest. Our Collections team is a critical part of our customer service operations, providing guidance and practical support to people when they need it the most.

Success comes from building rapport, asking great questions, listening carefully and working collaboratively to achieve positive outcomes. As you already know, helping people is rewarding but it can be challenging. You’ll need patience, empathy and an ability to remain calm under pressure.

Responsibilities:

• Engage with clients experiencing financial hardship to assess their situations and provide appropriate solutions.
• Develop and maintain strong, respectful relationships with clients to facilitate effective communication and resolution of issues.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records of client interactions and payment arrangements.
• Collaborate with team members to improve collection strategies and enhance customer service.
• Provide regular reports on collection activities and client feedback to management.

Experience required:

• Proven experience in collections, hardship or a related field, preferably within the financial services sector.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to empathise with clients and find practical solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• A team-oriented, positive attitude and great time management skills.
• Familiarity with relevant legislation and best practices in collections and hardship management.
