Job Description

The Part-Time Grounds & Maintenance Officer plays a vital role in ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of the charity's outdoor spaces in Kemps Creek, New South Wales. This position is essential for creating a welcoming environment for visitors and staff, contributing to the overall mission of the organisation. The successful candidate will work part-time hours, providing support in maintaining the grounds to a high standard.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the grounds, including gardens, pathways, and outdoor facilities.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, and planting.
  • Assist in the setup and dismantling of outdoor events and activities.
  • Monitor and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the management.
  • Ensure the proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment.
  • Support the team in various maintenance projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in grounds maintenance or a similar role is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of horticulture and landscaping practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Good physical fitness and the ability to perform manual tasks.
  • A valid driver's licence is desirable.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
