The Utility Worker is responsible for cleaning and maintaining kitchen work areas, equipment and utensils. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but supervisors/UACCM may identify other responsibilities of the position. These responsibilities may differ depending on business necessities and client requirements.
JOB DUTIES:
• Maintains the cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas as directed
• Washes dishes, eating and cooking utensils, glasses and cups, pots and pans by hand or by properly loading in a dishwashing machine.
• Maintains the cleanliness of all work tables, walls, refrigerators and meat blocks
• Sweeps, mops, cleans and vacuums floors.
• Removes trash and garbage to designated areas.
• Transfers supplies and equipment within and between storage and work areas
• Cleans equipment using specific chemicals to ensure sanitary standards.
• Complies with HACCP and all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
• Attends all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training, participates in regular safety meetings, designated trainings, and hazard assessments as directed.
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
• Knowledge of food service supplies, equipment, placing and receiving orders, and inventory control methods
• Able to follow routine verbal and written instructions, read and understand safety procedures and precautions printed in appropriate language.
• Able to be exposed to and safely use cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Basic knowledge of food service set-up, recording temperatures, production sheets, food presentation, and quality standards.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time, move about freely, reach, bend, stoop, climb, and frequently push, pull, lift, and carry up to 40 pounds
• Ability to communicate with co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect, maintains a professional relationship with all coworkers, vendor representatives, supervisors, managers, customers, and client representatives presenting self in a highly professional manner.
• Able to comply with dress code requirements which includes non-slip foot wear, work flexible schedule, and be present for shift by scheduled work time
• Proficient in the use of computers.
