Hours:
4 Hours Daily

Entry Qualifications 
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent


Title:  Food Service Assistant – Part Time
Organizational / Labor Relationship:  Collective Bargaining Agreement – East Penn School District and Foodcrafters Assocation ESP/PSEA/NEA of the East Penn School District
Status (FLSA):  10 month position, non-exempt, hourly
Reporting Relationships:  Ascending – Food Service Leader; descending - none
  To assist in all areas of food service as assigned by the Coordinator or Leader.
Qualifications:  Possesses a valid Pennsylvania driver's license at all times
Education: High school graduate or GED equivalent
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  1. Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  2. Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
  3. Is able to independently read, write, speak and comprehend the English language
  4. Ability to communicate courteously, efficiently and effectively with a variety of individuals, including students, staff, administrators, parents and representatives of outside organizations
  5. Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with peers, supervisors, parents and outside agencies
  6. Dependability, punctuality and initiative are essential
  7. Good personal hygiene
Essential Functions / Duties / Responsibilities
  1. Follow all HACCP and USDA food policies and regulations
  2. Maintain accurate and complete daily production records (meal counts, etc.)
  3. Rotation of all food service jobs as assigned daily including line prep, food prep, set up, cashier, clean up, dish room, catering, server and stock room
  4. All other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
  1. Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, lift, reach, communicate (vision, hearing, and speech), carry or convey sufficient weight to safely and effectively carry out functions, duties, and responsibilities
  2. Ability to independently ambulate in and around school buildings and office areas
 
  1. Ability to independently arrive at the designated work site and adhere to the established work schedule
  2. Can stand/walk for lengthy periods of time
