Job Description

Schedule: Full Time – 32 hours/pay period – Monday-Friday – Flexible hours between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Supporting Grand Arbor, Nelson Gables, and Autumn Cottages

Pay Range: $18.50/hr. to $23/hr. (hourly non-exempt) based on experience, qualifications, and location.

What You'll Do as a Fitness Instructor

  • Lead Engaging Wellness Programs – Facilitate group exercise classes designed to improve strength, balance, flexibility, and endurance. Provide safe and effective instruction on cardiovascular and weight training equipment.
  • Prepare & Innovate Wellness Classes – Plan and organize class content, introduce new exercises, and rotate class formats to keep participants engaged. Set up before class, welcome attendees, and ensure a smooth experience from start to finish.
  • Promote a Culture of Wellness – Support quarterly wellness assessments and celebrations. Seek and implement new methods to enhance wellness services, ensuring a high-quality and evolving program.
  • Collaborate & Grow the Wellness Community – Build relationships across departments to expand wellness initiatives, increase program participation, and enhance the overall impact of Vivie’s wellness programs.
  • Other Duties as Assigned – The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and are not necessarily all inclusive.

This job also requires:

  • Experience in leading group exercise, wellness programs, or fitness instruction is a plus.
  • Knowledge of safe exercise techniques, adaptive fitness, and wellness programming for older adults.
  • Ability to physically demonstrate exercises and safely assist participants.
  • Certification in group fitness, personal training, or wellness coaching is preferred.
  • Ability to pass state mandated background check.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate to residents, staff, and team members.
