Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized, physically active, and dependable File Clerk to join our records management team. This is not a desk job; you will be on your feet for the duration of your shift, physically organizing, shifting, and maintaining a high-volume paper filing system. The ideal candidate is someone who can follow precise directions, possesses a strong mastery of alphabetical and numerical filing, and takes pride in the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information. If you enjoy independent work that keeps you moving and requires a sharp eye for detail, this is the position for you.

Please note: This role is physically demanding. You must be able to perform the following for the duration of your shift:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods (8+ hours).

  • Frequent bending, reaching, and stretching.

  • Comfortably climb and work from a ladder.

  • Lift and move boxes or large groups of files as needed to reorganize cabinetry.

WORKSITE: On-Site Trenton, N.J.

WORK SCHEDULE: Part-time M-F 8:00 AM- 12:00 PM or 12:30-4:30 . You must be available to work either shift.

Part-Time: 20 hours per week

COMPENSATION: $20.00 Per Hour

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Active Filing: Organize and file applications, folders, and documents using established alphabetical and numerical systems.

  • System Maintenance: Create new folders and physically shift existing files to create space as the system grows.

  • Quality Control: Regularly check and correct the placement of previously filed documents to ensure system accuracy.

  • Retrieval & Disposal: Locate and retrieve files upon request and safely discard documents according to official privacy procedures.

  • Privacy & Security: Act with total discretion to secure and protect the privacy of all sensitive materials.

  • Information Preservation: Use clear handwriting for labeling and maintain a dedication to the long-term preservation of records.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Mastery of the Alphabet: Exceptional ability to alphabetize and organize numerically without errors.

  • No degree or prior experience required. We are willing to train the right individual who possesses a strong work ethic and the physical stamina for the role.

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is a plus but not required.
