
The Vocal Arts Department at Boston Conservatory at Berklee invites applications for a part-time faculty position in Italian Language Fluency. The ideal candidate for this position will be a motivated, creative professional who has a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching, and enjoys working in a campus climate that promotes cultural diversity and multicultural understanding. Candidates should be able to demonstrate native or near-native proficiency in spoken and written Italian and English. This is a 9-month part-time faculty position with renewable contract; initial appointment to begin September 1, 2026. Compensation and rank are commensurate with professional experience.
Modern Languages at Boston Conservatory at Berklee:
The study of modern languages within the Voice Department at Boston Conservatory offers courses in Italian, German, and French, that are specifically designed for students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees in classical singing. Focus in these language courses are on language acquisition, fluency, understanding of grammar in the language, expansion of vocabulary, and exposure to culture.

Hiring Range:
Part-time Faculty as of 9/1/26: $66.96-$138 per hour
Salaries for faculty positions vary by academic rank; Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor. Candidates are placed into a rank following the final completion of the interview process, based on qualifications, experience, and alignment with institutional needs.
