The Boston College School of Social Work (BCSSW) is inviting applications for Part-Time Field Advisor positions on an open and rolling basis.

BCSSW prepares social work professionals to practice transformative, evidence-based interventions to improve the most vulnerable lives, focusing on training leaders to advance equity, justice, and inclusion in diverse communities across the globe. The MSW Program offers courses in fields-of-practice that include Afrocentric Social Work, Children, Youth & Families, Global Practice, Health, Latinx Communities, and Mental Health.
The Field Advisor is an essential role in the Boston College School of Social Work Field Education Department. All BCSSW Students are assigned a Field Advisor as instructor of record to monitor and support student success. The Field Advisor serves as a liaison between the school, student, and the affiliated agency to operationalize requirements for the field education course. The Advisor meets with students, individually and/or in a group, regularly to monitor, evaluate and provide guidance to students in both course work and field placement. Students are responsible for attending all scheduled meetings with their Advisor. Students are encouraged to schedule meetings for advising as needed and to check in regularly in person, by virtual meetings, by phone, and email. The Advisor is responsible for responding to problems in the field placement presented by the student or the field agency and will make additional visits to the field placement as needed to address any concerns and to ensure that the student's educational needs are being met.
