Job Description

Under the general direction of the Director of Facilities or facilities manager, this position is responsible for general and specialized maintenance and repairs to site property, including regular compliance inspections and preventative maintenance. Responsibilities will include maintenance/service of HVAC systems, as well carpentry, electrical, plumbing and painting duties as required. You will maintain a clean and safe work environment and demonstrate the utmost integrity and the highest caliber of customer service and respect to guests and employees. Above all else, this position must lead by example to create Great Experiences and Memories for all guests and colleagues!

Key Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for washroom repairs such as daily preventative maintenance of washroom fixtures;
  • Changing of hand soap/hand sanitizer;
  • Unclogging toilets and sinks using various tools and equipment;
  • Changing/replacing burnt out light bulbs;
  • Wall repairs and painting;
  • Minor carpentry work;
  • Carpet and floor repairs;
  • Vacuum cleaner maintenance;
  • Preventative maintenance on stand-alone HVAC units;Maintain a clean and safe work environment;
  • Comply with safety procedures including use of required safety equipment and identify unsafe practices or conditions;
  • Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership, team members, vendors and regulators;
  • Adheres to all AGCO, GCGC, departmental and HR policies as they relate to functions of the role;
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations;
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.

Education and Qualification Requirements:

  • A secondary school diploma or an equivalence or combination of work experience and education;
  • Experience in a related field of 1 or more years with formal training in one or more of the related trade professions would be an asset;
  • Strong organization, interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills;
  • Certification/license from one of the trade professions would be an asset;
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, customer service and communication skills;
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with fellow employees and management as part of a team
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to obtain registration as a Category 2 Gaming Assistant with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset but not required

Work Environment Considerations

  • Fast paced with multiple priorities, deadlines and deliverables; exposure to some conflict, distress and noise;
  • This role requires a flexible schedule that adapts to the business needs of a 24 /7/365 operation; will have non-traditional work hours including weekend and holiday shifts.
