Direct Support Professional (DSP) – $17–$19.50/hr

Abound Health is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support an individual in the Jersey Shore area. This role combines In-Home & Community Support (IHCS) and Companion Services, focusing on daily living assistance, healthy lifestyle support, community engagement, and social participation. This is an excellent opportunity for caregivers who enjoy structured routines, active days, and meaningful community involvement.
Caregivers seeking additional hours may take on shifts with other clients once hired.

As a DSP, you will provide hands-on and community-based support that helps the individual maintain independence, build skills, and stay engaged. Responsibilities include:
• Assist with ADLs and household tasks during IHCS hours
• Follow a chore list provided by the family
• Support healthy lifestyle choices, including physical activity and nutritional decision-making
• Facilitate routine volunteering opportunities within the local community
• Coordinate social opportunities with the individual and their friends
• Provide transportation as needed; mileage reimbursement available for trips over 30 miles round-trip
• Encourage independence and support community participation
• Document services and communicate with Abound team members and families
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development
The individual does not require personal care support at this time. They are independent in the restroom; staff should wait outside. The individual can safely wait in a designated area if staff need to use the restroom.
This referral requires 7 hours per day, every other Monday and Tuesday, 8:30am to 3:30pm
IHCS: 2 hours per day
Companion Services: 5 hours per day
Caregivers may take on additional hours with other clients if they desire a fuller schedule.

• Must be 18 years or older
• Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks
• Comfortable supporting ADLs and community-based activities
• Ability to encourage healthy habits and active routines
• Willingness to support volunteering and social engagement
Experience working with individuals with disabilities is not required — we provide paid training and support.
IHCS: $19.50/hr (first 2 hours each day)
Companion Services: $17/hr (remaining 5 hours each day)
