Dentalcare Hook is looking for a professional, enthusiastic, and patient-focused Dental Receptionist to join our busy practice. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong customer service skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced healthcare environment and is passionate about delivering an exceptional patient experience.

As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the reception area while supporting both NHS and private patient journeys.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcoming patients and providing outstanding customer service both in person and over the phone.
  • Managing appointment bookings and maintaining an efficient clinician diary.
  • Maximising diary utilisation and supporting practice performance.
  • Discussing and promoting suitable private treatment options and dental plans to patients.
  • Handling patient enquiries and providing accurate information about treatments and services.
  • Processing payments and balancing daily transactions.
  • Managing outstanding patient balances and supporting debt recovery processes in a professional and sensitive manner.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records using practice management software.
  • Coordinating communication between patients, clinicians, and the wider practice team.
  • Supporting the practice in achieving excellent patient satisfaction and retention.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Hours: 32 hours over 4 days
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and diary management abilities.
  • Confidence handling payments and financial transactions.
  • Ability to work flexibly between Monday and Saturday.
  • Professional, positive, and proactive attitude.
  • Good IT skills and attention to detail.

Desirable

  • Previous dental reception experience.
  • Experience using dental practice management software.
  • Experience discussing private treatment options and treatment plans with patients.
  • Understanding of NHS and private dental services.
