Job Category: FacilitiesUnder the supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Custodian is responsible for keeping the building in clean and orderly condition in accordance with safe, sanitary and good housekeeping guidelines.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
- Sweeps, mops, and polishes floors, vacuums carpet, removes and disposes trash and litter, and cleans furniture.
- Cleans and sanitizes restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedure.
- Maintains and inventory of maintenance and cleaning supplies. Replaces supplies for restrooms and throughout the facility as necessary.
- Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and snack room according to food service sanitation standards.
- Makes minor maintenance repairs and/or notifies appropriate individuals of mechanical problems, malfunctions and of needed repairs.
- Responsible for grounds-keeping of the property as assigned.
- Responsible for special projects as assigned by the Club Director.
- Assist with the set-up of facility for meetings, furniture for meetings and events.
- Records and reports all needed repairs to supervisor.
- Ensures building and property is secure during shift and reports incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years’ experience maintaining institutional buildings
- Working knowledge of maintenance equipment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Moderate to considerable physical activity; requires handling of objects up to 50 pounds, standing or walking for extended periods, climbing ladders, bending and squatting, crawling in tight spaces, and use of protective equipment.
