The Part-Time Counselor provides mental health counseling, crisis intervention, and wellness programming to support the personal, emotional, and academic success of college students. This role involves individual and group counseling, outreach activities, consultation with faculty/staff, and collaboration with campus partners to promote a supportive campus environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide short-term individual counseling, group therapy, and crisis intervention services to students.
  • Conduct intake assessments, develop treatment plans, and maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with professional and ethical standards.
  • Collaborate with campus departments (e.g., Residence Life, Student Affairs, Faculty, Campus Security) to provide consultation and referrals.
  • Design and facilitate workshops, outreach presentations, and wellness initiatives on topics such as stress management, relationships, anxiety, depression, identity, and coping skills.
  • Participate in case consultations and staff meetings to coordinate student care.
  • Provide crisis on-call support during assigned work hours.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold the ethical standards of counseling and mental health practice.
  • Refer students to appropriate community providers when long-term or specialized care is needed.



Qualifications



Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or related field required.
  • Current licensure (LPC, LMFT, LCSW) or license-eligible in the state.
  • Previous counseling experience with college students, young adults, or diverse populations strongly preferred.
  • Strong skills in assessment, crisis intervention, and short-term counseling.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and campus stakeholders.

Work Schedule &

Compensation:

Part-time position (10–20 hours per week; flexible scheduling based on student needs and center availability). Some evening or weekend hours may be required to support campus programming or crisis response. Compensation commensurate with experience and credentials.
