
Our Assisted Living community is looking for a part time cook that is responsible for preparing and cooking meals for our residents and their guests located in Lake in the Hills, IL area.
Part Time Position
Job Responsibilities:
· Providing excellent culinary customer service to our residents in a restaurant-style atmosphere
· Prepare and cook meals in accordance with pre-established menus and recipes
· Maintain kitchen, food storage, and preparation areas in a clean, sanitized, and safe state at all times
· Working closely with the Culinary Director to provide residents with a satisfactory dining program
· Responsible for opening and/or closing the kitchen
· Documenting temperature of food prior to service and refrigeration/freezer
· Understand and follow standard food safety practices
· Review daily menu and review menu items
· May perform other duties as needed or assigned
Physical Demands:
Must be able to stand/walk for majority of the work day; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; must be able to stoop, bend, reach, and kneel frequently throughout the work day; may be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold from ovens and freezers; must be able to see, hear, and speak; may be exposed to industrial cleaning chemicals.

Qualifications:
· Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a cook in a hospitality or healthcare environment
· Positive, friendly attitude and a desire to work with seniors
· Strong communication and teamwork skills
· Strong organizational and time management skills
· ANSI-Approved Food Handlers Certificate
· Ability to read and follow recipes, cleaning schedules, and logs
· Ability to work in cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisors, and peers
· Ability to resolve problems of dissatisfied customers and peers
