POSITION TITLE: Server (Part-Time)
EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
POSITION REPORTS TO: General Manager
DEPARTMENT: Dining

At Kingside Diner located in St. Louis Lambert International Airport, the Part-Time Server is responsible for delivering First Class Service through efficient, friendly, and attentive guest interactions. This role supports a high-volume airport environment and requires open availability Sunday through Saturday for closing shifts (12:30 PM – last flight).

Servers are expected to create a positive guest experience through strong menu knowledge, timely service, and attention to detail while maintaining compliance with all company standards and procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver First Class Service to all guests, consistently demonstrating professionalism and hospitality
  • Greet guests, present menus, answer questions, and provide recommendations to enhance the dining experience
  • Accurately take, input, and deliver food and beverage orders in a timely manner
  • Monitor guest experience throughout service and respond promptly to additional needs
  • Maintain full knowledge of menu items, daily specials, and all beverage offerings (including alcohol)
  • Process payments and handle cash in accordance with company Cash Handling and Loss Prevention procedures
  • Execute point-of-sale transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Build guest loyalty through engagement and suggestive selling techniques
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked work area
  • Complete all assigned side work, including cleaning and restocking duties
  • Support overall restaurant operations (e.g., seating guests, answering phones, assisting team members as needed)
  • Address and resolve guest concerns professionally and escalate when necessary
  • Ensure responsible alcohol service and maintain required certifications
  • Comply with all food safety standards and applicable local, state, and federal regulations
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Previous restaurant experience preferred
  • Experience handling cash and using POS systems preferred
  • Must have open availability Sunday–Saturday for closing shifts (12:30 PM – last flight)
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and operational needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Basic math, reading, and writing proficiency required
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks including bending, reaching, lifting (up to 25 lbs), and walking long distances
