We are currently searching foraPart TimeClinicalAssistant at ourOrthoCarolinaGastoniaOUClocation.
This position will work3-4 shiftsper week Shifts are evenings (5:00-9:00pm) and/or weekends (10:00am-2:00pm).
The ClinicalAssistantisresponsibleforproviding and coordinating orthopedic patient care which includes performing routine office procedures and testing,participatingin patient teaching, communicating effectively with others, andassistingthe physician/mid-level provider in the delivery of patient care.
Essential Functions:
Updating clinical notes in electronic medical systems
Completing phone triage
Casting and bracing
Performing routine office procedures
Providing patient education
Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of EMR (Epic)
Ability to triage patient telephone calls. Gather pertinent facts; be asaccurateand concise as possible to assess patient health status and act asliaisonbetween patient and provider.
Ability toclearly and effectively educate patients, families and staffregardingthe full scope of patient care needs related to the care of patients with orthopedic problems.
Communicate effectively and clearlyRespond well to questions with patients, physicians/ mid-levelprovidersand co-workers
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited program for medical assistants, athletic training,nursingor a college degree in a related field

EMTs will need Emergency Medical Technician certification
ATCs will need to be board certified as Athletic Trainer
