Job Description


A prominent export organisation is looking for a reliable Cashbook Clerk to support their finance team on a part-time basis. The role will assist the finance team with daily cashbook processing, bank recons, and forex transaction support. This is an in-office role for 20 hours a week.


Key Responsibilities


  • Capture and process all bank transactions into the accounting system with high attention to detail.


  • Bank Reconciliations

    : Perform daily and monthly reconciliations across multiple bank accounts to ensure alignment with ledger balances.


  • Foreign Currency Processing

    : Assist with the processing of multi-currency transactions, ensuring accurate exchange rate application for international trade.


  • Payment Verification

    : Validate supporting documentation for payments and receipts to ensure compliance with internal financial controls.


  • Reporting Support

    : Prepare cashflow summaries and assist the finance team with data required for month-end and quarterly reporting.


Requirements


  • Proven track record in a Cashbook Clerk or Ledger Clerk role, ideally within a logistics or export-driven environment.

  • Technical Knowledge:

    Solid understanding of VAT and basic accounting principles related to cashbook entries.

  • Forex Exposure:

    Practical experience handling foreign currency transactions is highly advantageous.

  • Location:

    Ability to work on-site at the Paarden Eiland premises.

  • Microsoft Excel:

    Intermediate proficiency for data sorting and reconciliation (vlookups and basic formulas).
