About Heima

Heima Coffee Ltd is a small, independent, family‑run business based in Meols, Wirral. We operate as a café during the day and a pizzeria in the evenings, serving high-quality food and drinks in a welcoming and relaxed environment.

Purpose of the Role

To support the smooth and efficient running of the evening pizzeria service by delivering excellent customer service, preparing and serving drinks, serving food, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and professionalism within the front-of-house area.

Key Responsibilities

Front of House & Service

  • Set up front-of-house areas before evening service
  • Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional service
  • Serve food and drinks accurately and efficiently
  • Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to company standards
  • Communicate clearly with the kitchen team during service

Customer Experience

  • Ensure a positive and welcoming experience for all customers
  • Handle basic customer queries and resolve minor issues
  • Remain calm, organised and professional during busy service periods

Till & Cash Handling

  • Operate the till accurately and responsibly
  • Process payments correctly
  • Complete end-of-shift till reconciliation and cashing up

Standards & Cleanliness

  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of all front-of-house areas
  • Support end-of-evening cleaning and closing procedures
  • Follow food hygiene, health & safety, and licensing requirements

Teamwork

  • Work effectively as part of a small team
  • Support occasional evening events when required
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive working environment

Hours of Work

  • Part-time, evening shifts
  • Typically Thursday to Saturday, approximately 4:30pm/5:00pm until close
  • Additional cover shifts may be available when required

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • English Level 2 (GCSE A*–C / 4+ or equivalent)
  • Maths Level 2 (GCSE A*–C / 4+ or equivalent)

Desirable

  • Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above)
  • Barista training or certification

Experience

Essential

  • Experience working in a café, restaurant, bar or hospitality environment
  • Experience serving customers in a fast‑paced environment
  • Experience handling tills and cashing up
  • Experience serving food and drinks to tables

Desirable

  • Experience preparing hot drinks or alcoholic beverages
  • Experience supporting evening or weekend service

Knowledge

Essential

  • Good understanding of customer service standards
  • Basic understanding of food hygiene and health & safety requirements

Desirable

  • Awareness of licensing responsibilities relating to alcohol service
