The Church Evolution lab is seeking to fill a part-time Assistant Research Scientist position for a project on Drosophilidae wing evolution. This position is based in New York and the selected candidate will be expected to work onsite as of their effective start date.
Responsibilities may include laboratory dissections, slide preparations, imaging, and morphological analysis.
The candidate should have an undergraduate degree in some field of biology.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act the annual base salary range for this position is $18/hr for 15-20 hours per week. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
Qualifications being sought are experience in laboratory morphological imaging and analysis, as well as careful and organized project management. The researcher hired for the position will help the Church Evolution Lab expand its data collection for analysis of the evolution of wing shape across natural systems.
