Summary: Serves customer by providing technical phone support; processing parts orders; resolving customer parts issues

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establishes parts sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual part sales quotas, projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing as well as new products and services.
- Establishes and maintains selling prices by monitoring costs, competition, as well as supply and demand.
- Prepares parts orders by answering incoming calls; providing technical advice; verifying that product specifications are correct; clearly documenting the specifications/scope of the order.
- Minimizes customer downtime by answering incoming parts calls; providing technical advice; working with purchasing and/or production control to be able to quote customer accurate delivery time and expedite orders as needed.
- Minimizes cost of service to Columbia Machine and customer by working with customer to verify the orders they place are accurate and complete; work with engineering to identify needed conversions as well as replacement components for obsolete components.
- Prepares quotes by researching historical sales; analyzing product costs; working with engineering and purchasing to develop estimates.
- Maintains favorable customer relations by clearly reviewing expectations, i.e. payment terms, finance charges, warranty policy, RMA policy; notifying customer of pending credit related problems that may impede service; making courtesy calls.
- Promotes increased sales by working with marketing to target low sales customers and providing recommended spare parts lists to customers.
- Meet with customers at FAT to answer any questions they may have, provide recommended spare parts list and promote parts sales.
- Assists in maintaining customer information by communicating changes to accounting, updating changes in CRM system.
- Participate in the After-hours: service call rotation. In the After-Hours system:
- If the call is not an emergency, they will send an email to the proper parts person to contact the customer the next business morning.
- If it is an emergency, they would need to check stock and process the order if the customer requests it.
- On occasion they may need to run into the warehouse and ship the part themselves.
- Perform remote machine audits. (travel up to 10%)
- Manage warranty parts ordering (up to designated limit) and follow ups.
- Supports internal and external customer service
- Understands and documents internal and external customer needs and expectations
- Communicates to appropriate team(s) when an expectation will not be met
- Ensures prompt follow up communication and delivery of materials for customer
- Continuously improves operating efficiencies by participating in cross-functional teams; eliminating non-value-added activities; documenting processes; documenting procedures.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge
- Establishes personal networks, participates in professional societies, attends professional workshops and reviews publications
- Maintain Knowledge of publications technologies
- Contributes to team effort
- Willing to attempt new assignments or fill in for others as needed; accomplishes other duties as assigned
- Participates in applicable SOP and SWI training
