Job Description

This Terms of Reference (ToR) defines the scope, responsibilities, and reporting requirements of the Support Staff role in relation to the Base’s operational supply chain and overall activities. It supplements the employee’s contract of employment and formal job description by clearly outlining local duties and the expected standards of performance.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Stores Management

This role shall:

  • Expedite orders and follow up on deliveries to ensure timely availability of materials.
  • Organize the transfer or return of goods.
  • Conduct shelf-life monitoring, stock checks, and cyclic counting to maintain accurate inventory.
  • Perform other store-related functions as directed by the Supply Chain function.
  • Hold a valid Forklift licence
  • Coordinate all inbound and outbound shipments between Falklands and UK supply chain locations, including preparation of export documentation and liaison with freight providers
  • Ensure accurate receipt, inspection, and system booking of all aircraft parts, including certification checks and damage inspection
  • Manage the issue of parts to engineering work orders, ensuring traceability and prioritisation of AOG requirements
  • Maintain accurate stock records within ERP systems, including receipting, issuing, and reconciliation with physical stock
  • Control quarantine and segregation of serviceable/unserviceable materials in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Prepare, pack, and document Dangerous Goods shipments in accordance with applicable regulations
  • Monitor shipment status and proactively escalate any delays impacting operational readiness

Fuel Operations

  • Conduct fuel sampling and testing in compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Perform routine checks of fuel handling equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of all fuel sampling and storage equipment.

Equipment /Vehicle Checks

  • Ensure vehicles are operational, maintained, and ready for use.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and general standards.
  • Report any deficiencies
  • Maintain all ground and support equipment including aircraft staging
  • Manage the calibration of tooling and equipment

Hazardous Waste Management

  • Control, store, and dispose of waste oil, fuel, and scrap materials in compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

Consumable Stock Control

  • Maintain appropriate stock levels of grease, oils, adhesives, PPE, and other consumables.
  • Replenish POL lockers as required including monitoring of SLED.

Hangar and Facility Husbandry

  • Maintain cleanliness, order, and general housekeeping of hangars and associated facilities.
  • Ensure bins and waste containers are emptied and properly managed.
  • Support general housekeeping and facility maintenance activities as required.

Aircraft / Ground based movements

  • Support the ground movement of aircraft
  • Aircraft cleaning including exterior and interior washing

Other

  • Where required by the chief engineer cover shifts on roster
  • Support in the maintenance of aircraft role / carry on equipment as designated.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications

  • Recognised trade qualification.
  • Forklift Licence
  • RFFS currency (Rescue and Firefighting)
  • Goods Inspector approval

Experience

Knowledge of:

  • Stores/ logistics
  • Dangerous goods
  • Aviation parts acceptance
  • Handling and material movements

Skills

  • Proficient with IT systems, such as in Microsoft office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and other web-based software.
