Hume City Council is one of Australia’s fastest growing and culturally diverse councils. We put the customer and our community at the centre of all that we do, ensuring our services are efficient and accessible.
We operate across a vast and diverse service area, providing our team with the opportunity to experience a wide range of environments, projects, and challenges. This variety supports continuous professional growth, skill development, and clear career pathways.
Our teams contribute to a broad scope of work including park improvements, sports field maintenance, park enhancements, and irrigation projects. This diversity creates strong opportunities for staff to not only grow within their roles but also move sideways into different areas of the business, gaining new skills and experiences.
We are committed to building a culture that values innovation, collaboration, and forward thinking. Challenging the norm is actively encouraged, and we support our people to think creatively and contribute ideas that enhance how we operate and deliver services.
We foster a team environment built on respect, accountability, and shared success. Knowledge sharing, mentoring, and teamwork are key to how we operate, ensuring individuals feel supported while also contributing to the broader team’s success.
We also recognise the importance of work-life balance and strive to provide a supportive and structured working environment. Through varied workdays, exposure to different operational areas, and opportunities to learn new equipment and techniques, we aim to create a workplace where people feel valued, motivated, and proud of the work they do.

More than 1000 scientists, engineers and experts work at ANSTO to answer the significant environmental, medical and industrial questions using nuclear techniques.
ANSTO’s international collaborations, including partnerships with the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), ensure Australian scientists are connected to a global network of experts and research projects.
As part of enabling a strong national collaborative network, ANSTO is connected with all Australian and New Zealand universities through the Australian Institute of Nuclear Science and Engineering (AINSE), providing researchers access to Australia’s nuclear science, technology and engineering expertise and landmark infrastructure.
On average, ANSTO accommodates over 1800 visiting researchers from other Australian and international research organisations each year.
