Position Specific Summary
The Parking Service Agent II position at the City of Tucson’s Department of Transportation & Mobility enforces parking ordinances, monitors parking meters, signs, and markings, and maintains parking meters and facilities to ensure compliance and parking meter collections.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Parking Services Supervisor. This position leads and instructs the daily operational work of parking service personnel.status and oversees the work of parking service agents to maintain productivity and work quality. Trains Parking Service Agents in procedures, practices, policies, related law, regulations and City Code.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provides leadership for the day-to-day activities related to Park Tucson. Leads Parking Service Agent I’s in the field. Monitors job
Provides training to new Parking Service Agent I’s. Ensures training is adequate and efficient. Assists in coordination, training and development of staff programs practices, policies, codes, laws and regulations.
Patrols designated areas on foot, bicycle, and by vehicle to monitor parking meters, signs, and markings. Enforces parking codes and investigates violations by speaking with walk-in clients. Enforces parking and transportation regulations and issues citations. Coordinates with a licensed towing company to remove and transport vehicles as needed. Investigates and responds to incidents and complaints from the public. Conducts research and analysis on ticket complaints and concerns. Maintains logs and records of daily activities Draws parking diagrams of parking lots and areas to determine parking specifications.
Provides customer service to the public and responds to a variety of questions. Provides information and education on rules, regulations, laws, ordinances and City Codes. Responds to questions from court officials and may be called to testify about the details of a parking violation, such as the location, time, nature of the offense, and any other relevant observations.
Monitors and maintains the cleanliness and appearance of City of Tucson parking facilities, reporting any maintenance issues promptly. Monitors and conducts minor repairs to the parking and revenue control systems including pay stations and parking spaces. Monitors and ensures standard operating procedures are being followed for off street parking operations.
Collects money from parking meters and transports collections to the cashier for deposit. Obtains receipts, audits meters utilizing a hand-held device, and audits parking meter collections. Collaborates with Parking Service Agent I for assistance.
Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: Two (2) years of directly related experience.
Equivalency: Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
License/Certifications: A Valid and unrestricted Driver License with two
(2) years of licensed driving is required
Preferred Qualifications: Two (2) years relevant experience, customer service.
Working Conditions: Individuals in these positions may work various shifts available depending on need. May be required to work on-call to include nights and weekends
