Title: Parking Enforcement Officer

Location: Norfolk, VA
Full-Time | 40 hrs/week
Payrate $21.19 per hour + Overtime Opportunities

Join the City of Norfolk as a Parking Enforcement Officer and help keep our city running smoothly and safely. In this role, you’ll enforce parking regulations, interact with the public, and ensure compliance with city codes across a variety of locations

We offer 4 full-time shift options

• Day Shift: Mon–Fri | 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM
• Evening Shift: Mon–Fri | 5:30 PM – 1:00 AM
• Afternoon Shift: Tue–Sat | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
• Standard Shift: Tue–Sat | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

What You’ll Do

• Patrol city streets, garages, and parking lots on foot and in a vehicle
• Enforce parking regulations and issue citations
• Coordinate vehicle towing when necessary
• Assist and communicate with the public professionally
• Testify in court on parking violations when required
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions

What We’re Looking For

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver’s License
• Strong attention to detail and reliability
• Ability to work independently and interact with the public

Preferred (but not required):

• Security, parking enforcement, military, or law enforcement experience
• Experience in issuing citations or working in compliance roles
