Department Facility, Operations, & Security

Classification Non-Exempt, Part-Time

Schedule: Non-standard, Weekend availability required, 2:30pm-9:30pm

Pay Rate: $15/hour

Scope of the Position:

We are seeking energetic and customer service-oriented Parking Attendants to join our team. The parking Attendant will greet patrons in a friendly and positive manner, charge guests the appropriate lot rate and issue credit card or debit card receipts for all transactions, verify authorized names off lists, and/or collect valid parking passes as guests enter the facility. Assists customers with parking related questions and museum information.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follows all Safety Guidelines and building protocols.
  • Greets each guest entering parking facility and assists guests with questions.
  • Perform cash register opening and closing procedures.
  • Collects revenues and issues credit card/debit card receipts to all guests.
  • Scans QR Code parking passes from pre-authorized guests.
  • Checks name off list of guests on the authorized parking lists for events.
  • Sets up and moves traffic cones, signs and barricades as necessary to control traffic in assigned area.
  • Perform machine troubleshooting and maintenance tasks such as changing out receipt paper and resetting devices.
  • Reports damage to property and vehicles. Collaborates with security guards to collect insurance information.
  • Follows all Parking Policies and Procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education, Experience, and Certification:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Previous parking attendant or valet experience preferred.

Key Qualifications:

  • Ability to navigate various systems and devices to process all parking transactions.
  • Ability to effectively verbally communicate with guests and other employees.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment for entire 7-hour shift.
