Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Newport to assist with the appointment of a Park Ranger, on a 3.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £12.71 - £16.39 per hour

An opportunity has arisen for a Park Ranger to support the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and safety of parks, playgrounds, and leisure facilities across Newport. The role involves carrying out playground inspections, maintaining cleanliness and security standards, supporting events, and ensuring facilities are safe and operational for public use.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out daily inspections and risk assessments of playgrounds and leisure facilities in line with EN1176 safety standards
• Open and close parks and facilities as required
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and security across sites
• Support visitors and facility users to ensure positive experiences
• Carry out basic gardening and grounds maintenance duties

Qualifications:

• Good standard of general education
• Knowledge of Health & Safety within a play environment

Essential Requirements:

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physically fit and able to carry out manual duties
• Good communication and record-keeping skills
• Flexible approach to working hours
• Ability to use initiative and work without supervision
• Full UK driving licence
