Under general supervision of the assigned supervisor, will perform a variety of increasing responsible tasks in maintaining County parks and open space facilities, and other County-maintained public areas; perform maintenance of turf, athletic fields, irrigation, trees, plants, shrubs, trash removal, and herbicide spraying as required and in accordance with safety standards and applicable policies and procedures. Assist Park Maintenance Worker III’s in the duties of any minor maintenance work of a general nature, in the areas of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, welding, or other specialty areas. Operate and perform daily maintenance of a variety of ground maintenance equipment, power driven tools and equipment utilized in the performance of duties.

MENTAL FUNCTIONS
1. Must have the ability to ask questions of foreman listen to and follow verbal and written directions in English.
2. Must have the ability to communicate verbally with co-workers.
3. Must have the ability to apply knowledge of use of tools, equipment and materials in a safe manner in the performance of essential duties.
PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS
1. Must have the ability to stand and/or walk up to four hours at one time, and up to eight hours total per day.
2. Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally from ground to waist level. Ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds frequently from ground to shoulder level.
3. Must have the ability to bend at waist and twist/rotate waist if necessary for up to one-half of workday.
4. Must have the ability to crouch and kneel frequently.
5. Must have the ability to work with arms extended and bent for up to four hours at one time, and seven and one-half hours total per day.
6. Must have the ability to push/pull with arms with a force of up to 50 plus pounds.
7. Must have the ability to climb ladders and work from ladders while trimming trees or shrubs.
8. Must have the ability to coordinate use of hands and eyes in performance of essential duties.
