Description

Carter Caves State Resort Park is seeking a talented and motivated Park Chef II to lead our kitchen
operations! This is your opportunity to bring your culinary skills to one of Kentucky's most scenic parks
while enjoying state benefits and career growth.

Job Duties:

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations and food prep
  • Plan and execute menus for guests and special events
  • Ensure food safety and sanitation standards
  • Manage inventory and assist with staff scheduling
  • Work closely with the Food Operations Manager on kitchen performance and staffing

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in commercial kitchens
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills

  • Serve-safe certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION:
High school graduate.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:
Must have four years of food preparation experience in salads, vegetables, or meats. Two years of the required experience must include management or supervision in a large-scale institutional or commercial full-service restaurant or state resort park food facility.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:
One year of culinary training will substitute for one year of the food preparation experience.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
