Position Summary

The Park Attendant provides front desk and administrative support at Lake Lorna Doone Park. This position serves as a primary point of contact for park visitors, rental customers, community partners, and the public. The Park Attendant assists with customer service, facility reservations, general inquiries, office operations, and day-to-day park administrative needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist visitors, renters, community members, and other guests in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Serve as a front desk representative for Lake Lorna Doone Park and provide information regarding park amenities, programs, rentals, events, rules, and procedures.
  • Answer and direct incoming telephone calls and respond to general questions from the public.
  • Assist customers with park rental and reservation inquiries and provide information regarding availability, procedures, fees, and required documentation.
  • Assist with processing and organizing rental applications, permits, forms, and other park-related documents.
  • Maintain accurate records, files, schedules, and other administrative information.
  • Assist with monitoring facility and park reservations and communicate scheduled activities to appropriate staff.
  • Receive and document customer requests, concerns, and maintenance issues and refer them to the appropriate staff member.
  • Assist with data entry, filing, scanning, copying, and other routine office duties.
  • Assist park management and staff with preparing correspondence, notices, forms, reports, and other administrative materials.
  • Provide support for special events, programs, rentals, and community activities held at the park.
  • Assist with checking in vendors, event organizers, renters, and other authorized users when needed.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk and office environment.
  • Monitor the front office and notify supervisory staff of safety, security, maintenance, or customer service concerns.
  • Assist visitors with locating park amenities and provide general information about park operations.
  • Follow City of Orlando policies, procedures, customer service standards, and applicable park rules.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Park Manager or supervisory staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience in customer service, office administration, reception, recreation, hospitality, or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to provide courteous and professional customer service to the public, community partners, and park users.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to type accurately and efficiently and demonstrate proficiency in basic computer operations, including keyboarding, data entry, email, internet navigation, Microsoft Word, Excel, and other standard office software.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records, organize documents, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to follow established policies, procedures, and instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a public-facing environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle routine administrative information appropriately.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by park operations and scheduled events.

THIS IS A PART_TIME_POSITION WITH NO GUARANTEE OF A CERTAIN NUMBER OF HOURS AND NO BENEFITS. THIS POSITION INVOLVES WORKING ON A TEMP/SEASONAL CONTRACT WHICH CAN BE RENEWED ANNUALLY BASED ON PERFORMANCE AND BUSINESS NEEED.

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:

  • Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
  • Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
  • Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
  • Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
