Job Description

This role is responsible for ensuring parent seed supply is in line with demand, supporting seed production in Europe in order to meet customer needs. The focus of this role will be for Europe parent seed. Specific crops will be balanced across the team. This individual will need to understand inbred field operations, portfolio lifecycles and commercial needs to successfully implement a production strategy that ensures seed is available in the right place, at the right time, at the right quality and at the right cost to the business. Beyond planning, this role will be responsible for managing inventory and monitoring seed delivery activities across the region to enable timely planting.

Duties/Responsibilities

Create and manage the Parent Seed production plans for assigned crop(s) across Europe.

  • Analyze demand, translate into supply plan and acreage plans by production location
  • Liaise with commercial crop planners to ensure operational efficiency, End to End alignment and agility in reacting to changes in demand
  • Communicate regularly updated needs to production locations
  • Create and maintain production plan in systems, and promote best use of systems by other stakeholders to make process effective and efficient
  • Collaborate with cross-regional supply contacts and ensure plan feasibility
  • Regularly seek feedback from field operations teams, identify/implement improvement opportunities, validate the regulatory requirements and certification needed.
  • Manage inventory and discard for assigned crop(s) and geographies.
  • Sign-off of the parent seed production plan with the regional Supply Chain Team.
  • Validate the agronomic fit of the parent seed production with SPRC team.
  • Monitor parent KPIs and lead parent seed improvement projects.

Identify and Develop Parent Seed Planning Strategy in Europe

  • Analyze and recommend optimum inventory levels, planning factors and sign-off with the local Supply Chain Team
  • Liaise with research team to coordinate seed transfer activities
  • Coordinate end-to-end process activities for a successful commercial launch process
  • Participate in commercial product lifecycle process to understand business needs and implement specific actions to ensure they are met
  • Represent parent seed in regional productivity efforts and facilitate process improvement
  • Communicate deviations in the E2E process during the IBP monthly cycle and impacts to launch volumes

Implement supply chain management techniques to proactively monitor rough cut capacity plans for conditioning, treating, and delivery progress. Lead Parent Control Towers, Parent Playbook Meetings and pre/post-mortem activities.

  • Coordinate with parent sourcing contacts on proper goal setting for parent delivery dates and monitor RCCP for each parent site in the region.
  • Monitor order fulfillment metrics and generate dashboards to ensure the parent team is successfully meeting SPSC Goals.
  • Serve as main contact within the assigned geographies and run Control Towers to ensure collaboration, communication, alignment, issue identification and mitigation.
  • Lead parent playbook meetings, define key processes, and update team on progress/issues.
  • Communicate any deviation in the parent seed production during the IBP monthly cycle that could impact the CY+2.
  • Support end to end processes and escalate exceptions including monitoring transfer volumes, quality and timing.

Locations:

  • Aussonne, France; Parndorf, Austria; or Seville, Spain preferred. Other European locations close to Corteva sites will also be considered.

Qualifications:

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Ag Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field of study is required

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Supply Chain or Seed production related experience required
  • Demonstrated advanced proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of Seed Field operations/Processing/Quality and production plant operations
  • Ability to organize data, perform analysis, and develop dashboards to inform and effectively communicate insights to stakeholders
  • Team skills with ability to work and interact with people from diverse backgrounds, cross-functionally and cross-regionally
  • Fluency in English
